pitigliano

Pitigliano is a characteristic village in southern Tuscany, a charming town that presents itself, among other things, as one of the main attractions of the Tufo area.

Il borgo offers the opportunity to discover monuments and buildings that are certainly very interesting: Chiesadi San Rocco, Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Church of Santa Lucia, Palazzo Orsini,

The town of Pitigliano is nicknamed “Little Jerusalem”, in fact, at the end of the 1500s, a large Jewish community settled there which in the space of a few decades built a splendid Synagogue, and gave birth to one of the most important Jewish ghettos in Tuscany, with an unleavened oven, a kosher butcher’s shop, a cellar and a sacred bath.
